The Learning for International Development (LID) Program at the University of Connecticut offers custom designed courses in areas related to various aspects of the project cycle, human capital, natural resource management, health and nutrition, and the economics and safety of the food system. These courses are designed to enhance the knowledge and abilities of participants in the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of development projects with the intention of promoting the effectiveness of international development assistance.

International development expertise and successful project implementation are critical elements as we attempt to achieve the Millenium Development Goals launched by the United Nations and the broader international community. These elements are also crucial to advancing the harmonization agenda set forth in the Paris Declaration as updated recently in the Accra Agenda for Action.
